A Brilliant Meteor

Abstract

A METEOR of extraordinary splendour was seen here this evening at 7.45. It appeared vertically under the Pole star, at an elevation of 40°, and, after pursuing a path that sloped down to the west at an angle of 30°, disappeared silently under Cassiopeia.
