IN answer to Prof. Silvanus Thompson's inquiry in NATURE of June 10, it may be stated that the “Johanniskäfer,” or “Johanniswürmchen,” is the common glow-worm, Lampyris noctiluca, L., or Lampyris splendidula, L.
