Abstract
A NUMBER of papers have been recently published which deal, either directly or indirectiy with the cause of the high efficiency of the incandescent gas mantle.1 Space1 does not permit us to enter at all fully into the details of these papers, but it is of interest to consider some of the questions, which they raise.
