Abstract
THE first edition of this book was reviewed in NATURE of January 4, 1900 (vol. lxi., p. 221). It will suffice to say that in its present form the volume covers the extended syllabus of work required for the first examination of the Conjoint Examining Board of the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons. Additional articles have been introduced in the present edition on hydrostatics, the polarisation of light, and Rontgen rays.
