Abstract
IN a letter published in NATURE of September 15, 1923, we gave some results of our experiments on the artificial disintegration of atoms, which indicate that the atoms of beryllium, magnesium, and silicon are broken up by the impact of swift-particles and give off H-nuclei of different ranges, exceeding 7 cm. in air.
