Abstract
IN deducing the value of the electronic charge, Millikan assumed for the viscosity of air 23 = (1822.7 ± 0.9) × 107. Recently Kellström1 has obtained the value 23 = (1834.8 ± 3.0) × 107, by a rotating cylinder method. This higher value, together with Millikan's data, leads2 to e = (4.816 ± 0.013) × 1010 E.S.U., in agreement with the X-ray-grating-crystal estimates of e.
