Abstract
VITAMIN B61 has been defined2 as “that part of the vitamin B2 complex which is responsible for the cure of the specific dermatitis developed by young rats fed on a vitamin B-free diet supplemented with purified vitamin B1 and lactoflavin” (riboflavin). The specific skin lesions (‘rat acrodynia’) are characterized by symmetrical dermatitis with œdematous, scaly skin, mainly on the most peripheral parts of the body, such as the mouth, nose, paws, ears and tail.
