Abstract
IT is very unfortunate that this important work should have appeared at such an inopportune moment in the world's history, when it will be difficult for most of the English-speaking peoples to obtain copies of it. Those of us who had the pleasure of meeting Prof. R. Becker at the 1939 Conferences on Magnetism in Bristol and in Strasbourg must sympathize with him in no small measure. In this work Dr. Doring and he have put forward in a very complete manner the whole series of interesting ideas on the processes of magnetization which have emanated from Göttingen during the present decade.
