Abstract
THE death of Robert Howden, emeritus professor of anatomy in the University of Durham, on December 7, removes one of the great anatomists of the Edinburgh School and a figure noteworthy in the history of the University of Durham College of Medicine, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
