Abstract

EXPERIMENTS were performed on 168 adult gonadectomized male and female rats. The following hormones were administered, the figures representing the dose given per week: androsterone 4.5 mgm., testosterone propionate 0.75 mgm., Astradiol benzoate-butyrate 0.015 and 0.09 mgm., desoxycorticosterone acetate 2–4 mgm. (also tablets of this hormone were implanted subcutaneously), desiccated thyroid powder 90–480 mgm., thyroxine sodium 1–3 mgm.
