Abstract
THE pelage change in captive stoats has been studied over a period of five years. The animals were caught at Ashton Wold, Peterborough, Northants, when only a few days old and hand-reared1. In this district the stoat normally remains brown throughout the year, although from time to time specimens are taken which show partial whitening in the winter.
