The Slide Rule Cursor

Abstract

IT is convenient to be able to check quickly whether the line of a slide rule cursor is accurately at right angles to the scale. We can test the correspondence of a number and its square, but if “log log” scales are available it is preferable to use them as, being further apart, the test is more sensitive.
