Abstract

MAY I hope that the “jool” pronunciation of Joule's name will be adopted, if only in order to preserve the mnemonic: “Old Dr. Joule he made this rule: The self-same energee Which lifts a gram of matter to 4 2 6 4 0 c. [centimetres] Will heat a gram of water through One centigrade degree.”
