THE BACKGROUND OF RÖNTGEN'S DISCOVERY*

Abstract

RÖNTGEN'S discovery was part of a scientific development that had its origin in the research on the passage of electricity through rarefied gases. I propose to show some of the salient points of this research in relation to the discovery of X-rays.
