Abstract
I AM surprised that in his capacity of chief conservator of forests, Mr. Marjoribanks appears to misunderstand the object of my communication, which was not only to stimulate public interest in this subject, but also to stress the serious situation disclosed by the report of the committee appointed by the Government to inquire into this question.
