To help the child has basic knowledge in what terms fat, animal fat, vegetable fat, heart healthy fat and less heart healthy fat mean

14 plastic food models out of which the child decides which of them contain fat and which do not. Child's choices are discussed and accurate explanations are given (eg, how can you know that an apple does not contain fat?). Black and white picture of different foods and different fats in those foods (fats that are hidden and fats you can see, heart healthy fats and less heart healthy fats)

The child told his/her parents what he/she did with the nutritionist and the nutritionist made sure that the parents got to know the words and phrases used when teaching the child

  

Home assignment: Choose five foods that contain fat and fivefoods that do not contain fat. Colour the black and white pictures: colour foods that contain heart healthy fat with green colour and foods that contain less heart healthy fats red colour

Paper–pencil task: Compare the amount of salt in different foods by colouring the salt bars. Discussion about child's own choices
