Abstract
THE recent paper by Woodward1 records the synthesis of polypeptides of very high molecular weight by the polymerization of N-carbonic anhydrides (I). This reaction is a well-known method of preparing polypeptides2,3,4, and Go and Tani5 prepared both a polyglycine of molecular weight about 6,000, and a co-polymer of L-leucine and glycine.
