Abstract
CONFUSION has arisen concerning the terminology of the fibrinolytic enzymes and pro-enzymes contained in blood plasma. In our papers on the fibrinolytic activator contained in tissue cells1,2, we adhered to the nomenclature used by Loomis, George and Ryder3, which is adequate from a biochemical point of view, and which has also been used recently by Guest, Ware and Seegers4 and by Goldhaber, Cornman and Ormsbee5.
