Abstract
SINCE the pioneer work of Durham, Gaddum and Marchal1 on toxicity tests for arsenicals, comparisons have been carried out using the method of quantal responses. The statistical implications of this method have been the subject of a considerable volume of work2–4. No amount of perfection of analysis can, however, compensate for the inherent shortcomings of the method.
