Abstract
THE second conference on the teaching of physics, organised jointly by the Institute of Physics and the Ministry of Education, was held at the Institute of Physics, 47 Belgrave Square, London, S.W., during February 24–26. Dr. F. C. Toy, president of the institute, in welcoming the members and opening the conference, spoke of the need for producing a broad and cultured outlook, which should develop men who were both good physicists and good citizens.
