Abstract
THE apparatus described in this note was conceived and developed during an investigation undertaken in Malaya with the object of obtaining samples of rubber latex from the living tree under completely aseptic conditions and in the absence of oxygen. This procedure is necessary for a fundamental study of the mechanism of natural coagulation and deterioration of latex which occurs on removal from the plant tissues under ordinary conditions.
