Abstract
THE matrix elements of a nuclear interaction of the following kind: have been evaluated for the levels arising from the nuclear s4p2(6Li), s4p3(7Li) configurations and for the levels of maximum orbital symmetry (partition numbers [42]) of the s4p6(10B) configuration, using oscillator wave functions. Using the measured magnetic moment of lithium-6 to determine the Sā D admixture in its ground-state (neglecting, however, the contribution2 of M12 to this moment), a relationship between Vc, Vt Vs is deduced for the consistency with spin 1 for the ground-state of lithium-6. It is found then that there still remains a range of possible values of Vc, Vt, Vs consistent with the spins for the ground-states of both lithium-7 and boron-10 (3/2 and 3 respectively).
