Abstract
WHILE working with coal tar resins, which consist of an unknown number of high-molecular weight compounds, it occurred to us that viscometric titration might provide a means of assessing the number of different groups of compounds present, grouping on a molecular-weight basis, This method has been used, and, with information from other sources such as chromatography, some indication of the complexity of the materials has been obtained.
