Method of Analysing Flow of Granular Materials such as Sand

Abstract

I HAVE been studying the flow of foundry moulding sand, and in the course of this work have developed a conception of flow of granulated aggregates which appears to simplify the problem and to permit relatively simple flow calculations. It is possible that these ideas might help in the treatment of data obtained for the flow of materials other than foundry moulding sands.
