A Phase-Contrast Searcher for the Burch Reflecting Microscope

Abstract

IT is important in the ultra-violet microscopy of biological material to be able to search for and focus the specimen with visible light so that ultra-violet irradiation can be kept to a minimum. As the material examined is normally unstained, little detail can be seen using conventional illumination with the microscope.
