Radioactivity of Zircons

Abstract

MÜGGE1 recorded the α-particle emission of zircons by sprinkling them on a photographic plate and, more recently, Tyler and Marais2 have used a similar technique for determining the relative radioactivities of mineral grains. In both experiments, the mineral grains were mounted on the surface of the photographic emulsion.
