Abstract
WORK was undertaken to study certain physiological mechanisms which play a part in the reaction of higher organisms to ionizing radiations. I wish to record the finding in the serum of irradiated animals of a humoral factor that influences the rate of cell division. Experiments of a similar nature have been reported by other workers1, who found, however, no or uncertain effects of humoral factors.
