Abstract
DURING a study of the methæmoglobinogenic activities of various carcinogenic agents, it was observed that a standard dose of the azo dye, 3′-methyl-4-dimethylaminoazobenzene (16.5 mgm. in ∼0.55 ml. of arachis oil per 100 gm. body-weight), induced a greater and more persistent methæmoglobinæmia in old female albino rats than in young female rats.
