Abstract
A RABBIT tolerant1 to a particular protein responds normally to an immunologically unrelated protein. Animals tolerant to one of two cross-reacting proteins respond badly or not at all to the other; this has been demonstrated with heterologous proteins, but may equally apply if one of the two cross-reacting proteins is autologous.
