Abstract
DIFFUSION of cadmium-115 into gallium arsenide has been examined by a method identical to that described by us1 in the case of zinc-65. The cadmium was diffused from a saturated vapour into a carefully prepared specimen of gallium arsenide approximately 1 cm. × 0.4 cm. × 0.2 cm. contained in a quartz tube 2 cm.3 in volume. After diffusion auto-radiographs of the specimen were taken to check the uniformity of activity across the surface and the diffusion profile was obtained by sectioning as described in the reference.
