Abstract

Dicyano - bis - dimethylglyoximato - cobaltate(III) complex, trans-K[CoIII dg 2(CN)2].3/2 H2O (a new compound)1 (dg = H3C.C(NOH).C(NO).CH3), was found to be reduced at the dropping mercury electrode in one step to a univalent cobalt complex polarographically in 1 M potassium chloride supporting electrolyte. The following electrode process was ascertained.
