Abstract

RECENTLY, Baker and Pritchard1 described certain tetranychoid mites from Africa, among which they listed Tetranychus cinnabarinus (Boisd.) and T. telarius (L.). Their work embraced a study of preserved material from Namulonge, Uganda, which they ascribed to the former species. The two species mentioned, together with others, have for long been the subject of controversy and have been included in the ‘telarius complex’ by authors.
