Abstract
THE indirect antiglobulin consumption test1,2 has been carried out on human leucocyte cytoplasm, leucocyte nuclei and platelets, using sera containing anti-leucocyte and/or platelet antibodies from non-transfused or minimally transfused patients : six disseminated lupus erythematosis (DLE), five idiopathic leuco-thrombopenias (ILT), four idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpuras (ITP). The auto-antibody nature of these substances was confirmed by the positive direct antiglobulin consumption test performed on the patients' own leucocytes and/or platelets. Three sera containing iso-leucocyte and platelet antibodies from three multiple transfused patients were also tested.
