Antibody Production in vitro by Means of a New Perfusion Chamber

Abstract

THE in vitro production of antibodies by explanted tissues or cells has been demonstrated by numerous workers. With a few exceptions, most of the reports have utilized qualitative or semi-quantitative methods to assay the antibody-levels. In those studies in which the investigators were able to measure the amount of antibody produced, either by isotopic techniques1–3, or quantitative precipitin assay1,4, the production of antibodies in vitro was of relatively short duration.
