Abstract
Discocotyle sagittata Leuckart is a well-known mono-genetic trematodo found on the gills of European sal-monids1–3. So far as I am aware it has previously only been found on hosts caught in fresh water, and it is therefore of interest to record it from sea trout (Salmo trutta L.) caught in the sea.
