Abstract
THE results of experiments carried out in this laboratory seem to indicate that the hydration of calcium sulphate hemihydrato is initiated by the heterogeneous nucleation of crystals of gypsum, and that thereafter fresh nucleation is not important, at least so far as the kinetics are concerned1.
