Magnetic Fields of Ocean Waves

Abstract

THE observation of magnetic fields set up by electric currents induced in ocean swell by its movement through the Earth's magnetic field has recently been reported1. The observations were made in deep water using a rubidium magnetometer suspended from a buoy.
