Abstract
IT has recently been shown that ions play an important part in the radiation chemistry of alkanes1. Since the ionizations that occur during γ- or fast electron-radiolyses are caused by interactions of molecules with electrons of a wide range of energies, it is desirable to obtain information about the relative ionization efficiencies of different types of hydrocarbons as a function of bombarding electron energy.
