Abstract

“THE outer segments of retinal photoreceptors consist of a stack of membraneous disks”1. The isolation of bovine retinal photoreceptor disks devoid of mitochondria and microsomes has recently been accomplished2. This communication presents a preliminary account of their lipid composition.
