Abstract
IN view of the findings of Fleischer and McConnell1, reported in the previous paper, we thought that the cytochemical hydroquinone-tetrazolium reaction should be applied to the same sample of isolated retinal outer segment (ROS) disks. The results are illustrated in Fig. 1. After a short incubation (20 min) a strong particulate reaction was obtained. This could not be related to any particular structure since intact disks are not present in the isolated preparation, as shown by electron micrographs.
