Membranes for measuring Low Molecular Weights by Osmotic Pressure

Abstract

THE determination of molecular weight from measurements of equilibrium osmotic pressure using aqueous solutions has usually been limited to values greater than 15,000, although it is possible to measure molecular weights as low as 4,000 with ancillary measurements1 using solute permeable membranes.
