Analysis of Antibodies against Synthetic Angiotensin II by the Passive Haemagglutination Technique

Abstract

FOR passive haemagglutination studies, antigens are usually adsorbed to tanned1, formalinized2–5, glutaraldehyde-fixed6 or chromium chloride-treated red cells7. Alternatively, antigenic material can be covalently bound to native or fixed erythrocytes by various coupling reagents, including bis-diazotized benzidine8–11, 1,3-difluoro-4,6-dinitrobenzene12, tolylene-2,4-diisocyanate13 and carbodiimide (CDI)14.
