Abstract
THE mould Aspergillus flavus produces a wide variety of toxic metabolites and, because of its role as a frequent contaminant of some foods and feeds, its metabolites have been investigated both chemically and toxicologically1. Recent research on the toxic metabolites of this mould has focused on the compounds known as aflatoxins2.
