Abstract
THE toxicity of various species of Crotalaria to animals, and on occasion to man, has been widely reported and several different pyrrolizidine alkaloids have been isolated from or identified in plants of this genus. Among species which have been reported as toxic are Crotalaria incana L. and C. mucronata Desv.1 and both are known to synthesize alkaloids2,3.
