Abstract
1972 marks the centenary of the Cambridge University Natural Science Club, the foundation of which was reported in Nature on June 6, 1872, with an account of the first terminal report of the club. The contributions of past members to science have been considerable and far exceed what might be expected in view of the method of election and the restricted total membership.
