Cyclic Nucleotides as Intracellular Mediators of the Expression of Antigen-sensitive Cells

Abstract

The interaction of antigen with antigen-sensitive cells can lead to antibody synthesis (induction) or can render these cells non-inducible (paralysis). Cyclic AMP may be the intracellular mediator of a paralytic signal whereas both cyclic AMP and cyclic GMP may be required as mediators of an inductive signal.
