Abstract
PREVIOUSLY we have reported1 that polyethyleneoxide (Polyox) in solution reduced the damping of free oscillations in a semicircular manometer, whereas polyacrylamide (Separan: also an effective drag-reducer in turbulent flow) did not. Here we report the effect of these additives (Polyox grades WSR 301 and N3000; Separan grades AP 30, AP 273 and MG 200) on the pulsation noise radiated by small air bubbles in water.
