The data points are experimental data (from analysis B) and the shaded boxes are a simulation of atmospheric neutrino events, the widths of the boxes indicating the error bars. The overall normalization of the simulation has been adjusted to fit the data. The possible effects of neutrino oscillations on the flux and its zenith angle dependence estimated from the Super-Kamiokande measurements20, are expected to be small in our energy range.
