(b) Confocal micrographs showing double immunofluorescent labeling of GFP with MHC, CD45, Flk-1 or α-SMA. GFP positivity (green fluorescence) overlapped with CD45-positive leukocytes (red fluorescence), but not with cardiomyocytes, endothelial cells or vascular smooth muscle cells. When the primary antibodies were substituted with the control IgG, no fluorescence was noted of GFP or the cell specific proteins, confirming specificities of staining (the most right panels).
