Expressions of TNF-α and IL-1α mRNAs in murine myocarditis. Total RNA was prepared from the hearts obtained on Days 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 after CVB3 injection; mRNA expressions were examined by RT-PCR. Glycer-aldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) was used as an internal control. A, Equal volumes of the amplified products were loaded onto 2%-agarose gel. B, The relative intensity of the bands for TNF-α and IL-1α mRNA obtained by densitometry was divided by the intensity of the bands for the internal marker, GAPDH.
